Worldwide Holdings strengthens ties with local authorities, media through bowling tournament
26th February 2024 – Worldwide Holdings Berhad (WHB) recently hosted the Worldwide Environment Invitational Bowling Tournament 2024, featuring 41 teams from Selangor local councils and media organizations.
The tournament took place at Sunway Mega Lanes, Sunway Pyramid, with participation from media agencies such as the New Straits Times (NST), Berita Harian (BH), Bernama, Sinar Harian, and Selangor Media.
According to WHB Group Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Norazlina Zakaria, the tournament, last held in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic, aimed to celebrate collaboration and strengthen ties between Worldwide and local authorities, government agencies, and media organizations.
“The reorganization of this tournament is also a sign of appreciation to all parties who have greatly assisted with work matters and business operations, providing continuous support to WHB, especially in the Environmental Management department,” she said.
Team JPP Strike from the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) emerged as the champion with a total of 2,359 pinfalls. Second place went to Team PADU X from the Selangor State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN SPBT) with 2,231 pinfalls, while the BERNAMA DIGITAL team secured third place with 1,976 pinfalls.
Mohd Ikhzal from MBDK and Norhayati Mohd Ali from Hulu Selangor Municipal Council won the men’s and women’s Hi-Series categories with 640 and 511 pinfalls, respectively.
Shahril Hafiz from Klang Municipal Council and Mohd Zaki from UPEN SPBT received special prizes for throwing five strikes in one round.
Prizes were presented by WHB Waste to Energy head Daniel Liew, Waste to Energy head of project Ir Mohd Shokri Daud, and Group Corporate Communications & Administration head Raja Farah Diba Raja Abdul Rashid.
